Fahrenheit 911? crap. Bowling for columbine? better. this? damn good! Now this was a convincing documentary, it touches a very important subject and does so with plenty of humor and wit. Well everybody already knows that fast food is not good for you, but sometimes its hard to avoid eating it. It's fast, its dirty cheap, and it sortof fills you up, even though its killing you slowly. This is probably a movie I would show to children when they ask to go to McDonalds. Havent seen this yet? eat fast food? know someone who eats fast food? GO NOW!!!

Well this one was weird, the previews made me think it would be a action-type scary movie where creatures jump around and eat people, but it was more of a thriller of sorts. It started very very slow, the alcohol in my body was not in the mood for such slowness, but I stuck through it since it looked interesting. And well they developed the characters good and provided an interesting story, but it was totally not what I expected. Only watch this if youre ready for a sloooooooooooow movie that takes forever to actually "begin".

It appeals to anyone that has had one of those weird nights where all sorts of weirdness happens. Watch this one a second time for added jokes you might miss the first time because you weren't paying attention due to laughter.

Well I sure thought this was going to be another crappy Hollywood "blockbuster" since the previews gave every indication it was going to be so. In reality, this was a very good movie with great special effects and a coherent and original story. Lots of comedy from Will Smith and other funny moments. The title should not be confused with Isaac Asimov's book as it is not faithfull to the book story, They obviously just took the book as a general idea and made it into something else. Lots of people bitching that they butchered Asimov's work, but I think they just used it as inspiration. This one is definetly worth a watch.

So here's the first movie I've stopped watching half way through, its complete and utter CRAP. I can't imagine who would find this funny in any way, its crap and its not funny. I dont even want to think about this piece of shit anymore. The best part of this movie was when the credits came up, and I put Spiderman 2 in to see it again.. had to make up for this piece of shit.

WOW! They didnt fuck up the sequel. Absolutel great flick, kept to the story, expanded the story, very nice action scenes that fit in perfectly. This is one absolutely worth seeing. Better than the 1st one, and yes there will be a 3rd one which they set up nicely too.
Anyway, go see this!! Its got a little bit of everything for every type of movie-goer.

Well here's Michael Moore's latest, surrounded by controversy and pounded by media both for good and bad. Saw it last night though, and it was really good, although not as good as Bowling for Columbine but the time it is being shown at is crucial for its success. It's basically a bunch of news footage, interviews and such with Moore's commentary over. From Florida's election fraud, Saudi Bush connection, current situation in Iraq, people losing family in the military... all sorts of juicy stuff. Really nothing new for people following independent news sources, but good nonetheless. Most of all the parts where he makes fun of that monkey retard whose name rhymes with push are funny. I do honestly believe that most of what Moore brings to light here is true, and I'm sure everyone will eventually find out if it was or not.
Anyway, go see this, you cannot resist this movie with all the hype surrounding it, and it is really well made too.

Seeing the trailers on TV for this one made me think this would be a bad movie, but I wouldnt mind watching it. Well its not a bad movie, its a bit odd but it has plenty of good comedy and a pretty original story, good acting all around. If you want to laugh and sometimes think "what did he just say?!?!?!?!" then see this, its no oscar material but it is one of those rare comedies that is worth seeing in these days of crap summer "blockbusters"

Hmmmm... well... this one was interesting, I didnt know what the hell was going on until about half way through the movie, the action scenes were not bad at all, the story had a lot of potential but was presented poorly, the acting was piss poor except for Judi Dench. The script and lines were absolutely terrible up to the point that they were funny and you didnt know which line was more pathetic. Special effects were great but they wasted a nice SciFi story with stupid crap. This isnt worth the tape/hard drive/cd/whatever that it was filmed on :)

Wow was this a fun night. Tiesto was absolutely awesome!! I couldnt stop dancing for the entire 2hr 30min set, he played awesome tunes, it was sad that most of the crowd was too tired to keep going until the end. Liquid is nice as usual, although it was damn hot and crowded, which is to be expected at an event like this. No wonder Tiesto is one of the top 5 DJs/producers on the planet!! Also, since this was on a Thursday night there werent many stupid kids around, I guess their mommys wouldnt let them out, poor things I feel bad for them.
Anyway, great music... ok venue, ok people.

I've been here a few times, might as well say something about it now. Like smoking? like hookahs? like flavored tobacco? Then this is the place for you! Nice variety of tobacco for hookahs, nice selection of alcoholic drinks and reasonably priced too. This is for the one in Addison since the one in downtown is quite different. The atmosphere is relaxed, people come and go all the time so it seems like its a place to go before going somewhere else. The menu lists some food and while I havent tried any of it, the idea seems good and the food is middle-eastern style. This place is open Thursday-Sunday and is 21+ and a great pre-party place.

Music: 10/10 nice and relaxed, lots of 80s music
Decor: 8/10 pretty good, nice pillow areas to sit down at
People: 8/10 everyone to themselves, people having fun in their groups.
Prices: 8/10 decent. $3.50 mixed drinks, $4.50 import beer
Best drink special: Free hookah on Thursdays (1 per table). $3.00 u-call-its on Sundays.

This is a sad and disturbing movie, but a very good one. As has been said about this movie before, Charlize Theron plays the part amazingly, that is what an actress/actor should be all about. Cinematography is flawless, acting is flawless, story might get some people to turn this one off too early, but to those people.. open your mind!! Highly recommended flick.

So this place is interesting, very nice music, very nice decor, but damn those Dallas yuppie bastards that go there. Fake people with no respect for anybody. Beautiful women that think theyre "all that". Spoiled rich kids (lamborgini in parking lot, among other "nice" cars). As with all places, the drunker you get the more fun it is of course. This is a brand new place and thus popular. Expect to wait in line at the door to get in unless you know someone or are a hot chick, or money throwing idiot guy. Very uppity, very posh. Overall fun though. 21+ to get in, fake IDs welcome.

Music: 10/10 damn nice
Decor: 9/10 these guys put effort into the place
People: 5/10 fuckin yuppie bastards
Prices: 8/10 regular lounge prices
Best drink special: Thursday & Sunday $5 any vodka Martinis

Hmmm... here's an interesting one. Very nice special effects, but terrible dialogue and plot (not much dialogue to begin with really). The overall theme is good and its even better that people might become aware that a thing like this can actually happen if we dont take care of the planet. (Good job Bush for not supporting the Kyoto protocol). Some really stupid things in this movie, but the special effects make up for it, I would not see this movie twice. If you saw the 10 minute preview on FOX a week ago, you've seen all thats worth seeing in this movie.

If youre wondering or not why the hell is this just a bunch of movie reviews... well here's the answer.

Main reason - I have this sitting in the living room:

Its a 52" Widescreen High Definition TV, and its damn nice, especially with the VOOM satellite that has 30+ HDTV channels.

Secondary reason - this collection of movies:

Theres over 300 original DVDs there, some pirated ones, and then theres a few stacks of burned CDs of the latest theater releases ("Day after tommorow" review coming later today). Theres also a bunch of DVD-R copies of movies rented from Blockbuster and borrowed from friends.

So why wouldn't I watch a lot of movies?

Just saw the extended DVD edition of this one. Pretty good action flick, very nice action scenes and the story was interesting. A tiny twist to the vampire vs. warewolf tales. The funniest part of the movie is the Bacardi branding at the metro station in the first scene of the movie. Bacardi signs everywhere in plain view and made so that you notice them. Those vampires sure love their bacardi with the bat logo, weird though I didnt see a single bat in the entire movie. Maybe Bacardi should have paid a little more to keep the viewer's mind set on the Bacardi bat. Damn now I want to go make a rum & coke... damn movie.

Ok well everyone seems to say this movie is crap. And it is, but its a hell of a lot more entertaining than Van Helsing was. This movie is stupid and for the <12 year old girl crowd, it also manages to be pretty racist at times. The olsens are incredibly skinny, nice image to be showing little girls that look up to them, its another case of bad role models a la Britney Spears.

So I went to the whole graduation thing, and honestly my liver hurts like hell. Its been an orgy of alcohol from Friday night till Monday night (and still going). Hopefully things will calm down soon so I can go back to regular life of sitting around and doing nothing, oh and looking for a job. I only actually walked and picked up my diploma so my dad could see me do it, otherwise I would not have bothered, actual commencement was nothing special, but the weekend was amazing.

Absolutely horrible movie. Terrible acting, bad script, extremely predictable, absolute crap. I cant believe it has made so much at the box office and yet I see why it has done so too. Universal put a ton of money in the marketing of this flick, I remember before it came out you couldn't pass a commercial break on any TV channel without seeing the preview or some sort of marketing for it. I guess the studio is happy that the general public bought in to their crap and went to see the movie, and I'm sure the 12 year olds that saw it thought it was great. DO NOT see this movie unless you want to sit and laugh at how bad and stupid it is. yeay for advertising!!! At least it still works (on some people).

Graduation Weekend...

So this weekend is graduation weekend at my college which means lots of alcoholic debauchery and walking the plank ummm stage... to receive my $100,000 diploma which still hasnt gotten me a job, oh joy. Well at least I'm looking forward to all the alcohol.
In other news I have Van Helsing and New York Minute and will be offering a crappy review for each (yes I know New York Minute is a horrible horrible movie). Also, just got satellite TV installed today from this company called VOOM and its damn nice. It has over 30 channels in High Definition, put that on my roommate's 52" Widescreen HDTV and its amazing, now I have even more things to waste my time (and non-existant money) with.

Wow now this was an impressive movie, not your typical hollywood crap. Its the kind of movie that doesnt make much sense and makes you think a lot, in other words good. This is the first time I see Jim Carey in a serious role without making faces and animal noises throughout the movie and he does a superb job at it. Prepare to wonder and be confused, there are many plot twists that make this one interesting.
